Frensham RS Tera Open Meeting 2016

Frensham Pond Sailing Club RS Tera Open Meeting

36 enthusiastic young competitors from as far afield as Rutland, Harwich and Sutton Bingham took to the Pond for the 2016 FPSC RS Tera Open Meeting on Sunday 12th June.

In the Pro fleet, Tim Hire set the early pace in the first race but was overhauled by Freddy Wood, who never looked back and took a clean sweep of firsts. Tim and Issy Taylor-Jones were always close behind, though, and traded places to take second and third overall.

The Sports mustered an amazing 29 entrants, with impressively close racing throughout the fleet. At the front there was a hard fought battle and much place changing in all four races between Tom Ahlheid, Luke Anstey, Alice Davis, Ralph Nevile, Fergus Pye and Jake Thompson, with Tom Stratton-Brown always pushing them. Ralph edged out Luke by a boat length to take his third win and the series, with Luke having to settle for second overall with a win and a string of seconds.

Grateful thanks to Andark Diving & Watersports and RS Sailing, who very generously supplied some fantastic prizes for the event.
