FPSC - 7pm Saturday - Don't miss it ! |
Chris Watts, an international and Olympic judge, will be coming to explain Rule 42 and answer your questions. This is an absolute must for anyone sailing away at events - especailly Junior and Youth sailors who may find the jury boat a bit of a shock - but is also very relevant to sailing on the Pond ! |
What's Rule 42 ? |
It is not the meaning of life. It is a set of rules that govern pumping, rocking and rolling - any movements of the sail or body that propel the boat. Chris will explain where the line is between legal and illegal movements and what he is looking for when he's out on the water in a jury boat. And we aim to have a practical demonstration using an Oppy in the newly decorated Clubhouse. |
This evening is for Everyone ! |
Many don't push Rule 42 and can learn what movements are legal. Trust me, they make the boat go faster ! And have you ever sailed beside someone and thought their boat is moving around a lot? Is that fair or legal? Come along and learn the answers ! Chris will also bring his rules boats along so if you've questions about other rules too then this is your opportunity to get them answered. |
Bar open at 7pm, with snacks. See you there ! |

Due to an amber weather warning associated with storm Ciara there are extreme conditions expected tonight and throughout the day tomorrow. The club will therefore be closed tomorrow and all racing for Sunday is abandoned.
