Sailability

Frensham Pond Sailability offers people, who because of a long term illness or disability, require support to sail. There is a range of sailing available from therapeutic to competitive sailing all within a safe, caring and social environment. The site is easily accessible and all equipment and facilities needed for sailing are provided. So why not come and experience what many have described as 'freedom on the water'.

Directions

Approaching from the South

Follow the A3 until it becomes single carriageway and continue to the traffic lights at Hindhead. Turn left (North) on the the A287. After about 4 miles you will pass through the village of Churt. Continue for a further mile and a half and turn left at a sign to the Frensham Pond Hotel. This is Pond Lane and the club is about 200yds along this road on the right.

Approaching from the North or East

Take the A3 to Guildford (or the A331 from Junction 4 of the M3) and then the A31 Westbound. Follow the A31 Farnham Bypass until you reach traffic lights. Turn left here (signposted Hindhead and A287). Pass some shops and bear right over the level crossing. Follow signs for Hindhead. These signs will direct you to a right-hand turn and then a left-hand turn until you are on the A287 proper. Frensham Pond is a further 3 miles on the right. Drive past the pond and take the next right turn marked Frensham Pond Hotel. The club is about 200yds along this road on the right.

For drivers approaching from London on summer weekend mornings, there can be long delays both at the traffic lights at Farnham and at Hindhead. An alternative route is to take the A3 beyond Guildford and turn right at signs for Thursley (take great care turning right across oncoming traffic - be patient). Follow the road through Thursley and turn left at a T-junction. Follow this winding road for a couple of miles until you reach a cross-roads. Go straight across and continue along another winding road until you reach a T-junction. This is the A287 from Hindhead. Turn right and the turning for the club is a further 1/2 mile on the left.

Approaching from the West

Follow the A31. You cannot turn directly onto the A287. The simplest route is to continue along the A31 past this turning to the large roundabout at the eastern end of Farnham. Drive around the roundabout and return in the opposite direction and then follow the directions for approaching from the East above.
