About the Boat

Adrenaline packed racing and a full-on social scene. The RS200 is one of the most popular two person sailboats of today. Perfect for moderate weight teams, it’s a winner with mixed crews, young sailors and family teams – at clubs, championships and on the RS Racing Circuit. Strict one-design rules keep the competition tight and the budget in control. So it’s all about exciting sailing and a good time ashore. This Class attracts rock stars and newbies like almost no other. It was one of RS’s first – and it’s still one of the favourites.

RS 200 Racing at Frensham

The RS200 is the newest approved class at Frensham with nearly 30 active boats sailing regularly. From National Champions to those just learning – we have a vast array of abilities in the RS200 class. We welcome the newbies and more experienced alike.

The Club sees the class as a key pathway to keep teenagers engaged in sailing at the Pond as they progress from the junior and youth classes.

One design racing will follow on from the Saturday morning youth training and before the afternoon pursuit race.

Sunday racing will, for the time being, remain part of the K-Class.

National and Local events

The RS200 Frensham open will form part of the SEAS (South Eastern Area Series)  circuit. There is a national championship held yearly that attracts upwards of 100 boats and the racing is of an extremely high level – as are the parties!

Club boat hire

The club has an RS200 for hire for experienced helms and crews.
