Frensham RS Teras on the road….

On Saturday 24th June, 10 boats travelled to the Mudeford Open Meeting. Ralph Nevile represented FPSC in the Pro rig, taking the event with straight wins. In the Sports FPSC took the first four places, with Tom Ahlheid first ahead of Jake Thompson, Tom Stratton-Brown and Tristan Ahlheid.

The following day Luke Anstey was the sole FPSC representative at Bough Beech SC, sailing in a Pro fleet dominated by fellow Squad members. Close racing ensued and the lead was in constant flux, with Luke winning overall by a single point.

These events were a good warm up for the RS Tera Inland National Championships, which took place at Rutland Water on 1st/2nd of July. The Pro fleet was 22 strong, with ten of those in the mix for the top placings and race wins going to six different helms. The two Frensham sailors put in strong performances, with Ralph Nevile finishing 3rd and Luke Anstey in 4th overall.
Five Frensham sailors joined an impressive 47 boats lined up for the Sport fleet series. At the end of Saturday Jake Thompson was in 2nd place on countback, and with Tom Ahlheid close behind in 5th there was everything to play for on Sunday. Jake dropped a couple of points to the eventual winner, Alice Davis from Great Moor SC, but very comfortably held his 2nd place overall. Tom managed to improve his placing to fourth despite suffering a broken mast which cost him a discard and a potentially good race result.

Next up is the Worlds at Carnac……

2.4mR Open Meeting 3rd - 4th June 2017

During Sunday 4th June there will be no club racing.

However: There are currently 2 x competitive club boats available for hire to members only on a first come, first served basis.

Should this be of any interest to members it would be highly recommended that sailors should initially try the boats out before competing and there will be an opportunity on Thursday 25th and 4th June.

Please contact Kate Hedley on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  should this be of interest.
