RS Feva
The RS Feva is the newset addition to the youth training fleets at Frensham Pond. It is an exciting yet cost-effective double-handed dinghy with an assymmetic spinnaker - an ideal boat for teenagers aged 13 to 17. As an RYA Pathway class it boasts an excellent established GP open meeting circuit building up to National, European and World Championships.
About the RS Feva
The RS Feva a great transition from single handed junior classes to youth pathway boats such as the 29er and 420. The boats are robust and durable and teach sailors how to set up the boat for different conditions and three sail downwind techniques.
Training at Frensham
The RS Fevas at Frensham train every Saturday morning throughout the year. Sailors of any standard are welcome and we may be able to find crews and boats for those sailors looking to join in. Training covers everything from basic boat handling skills, through to advanced sailing techniques and regatta preparation.
Racing
Sailors will be introduced to racing as part of the regular training sessions with practice races at the end of each session. Our sailors usually stay to compete in the afternoon pursuit race which provides an excellent platform for embedding the skills learnt in training.
The class holds well attended regional training events throughout the UK. The 6 national ranking events attract over 50 boats and the National Championships attendance will be close to 100 boats most years.
